2nd Circular Cycling Bridge

bysteel, in partnership with Cari, was responsible for the construction of this emblematic project, aiming to address the access network on the north and south perimeters of the expressway (2nd circular road) in Lisbon.
With a bold design and engineering, the bridge is placed over a very busy road, without any kind of support, using "coffin" type beams to reduce the number of pillars "in service," and acting as a tool that encourages physical activity by way of ramps, steps, and bicycle parking spots.
The constructive solutions and the innovative architecture of the bridge are, in themselves, inducers of the enormous impact of this project on the site.
The 2nd Circular Cycling Bridge was chosen as one of the ten best in the world by the prestigious website Designboom.
