Designed by the Portuguese architect Eduardo Souto Moura (Pritzker Prize 2011), the Estádio Municipal de Braga, is located on the slopes of Monte Castro which is situated on the outskirts of the urban area of Braga and located in the space of a disused quarry.
The architect envisioned the stadium as a Greek theater, with one stand carved into the stone, with the other isolated and rising from the ground. Undoubtedly a daring solution that gives new life to the landscape.
For this work of architectural and engineering excellence, bysteel was one of the partners selected for the execution of the metallic structures.
“A Pedreira”, “The quarry”, is now one of the most iconic sporting works at national and international level.
